Smee School District #15-3 is a public school located in Wakpala, South Dakota on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.  We are dedicated to the intellectual and social growth of each student as they learn to live effectively in a contemporary bi-cultural world.  Our school educates students to help them become successful in all aspects of life with attention to individual differences.

Carnival Tickets

Enrolled students who ended the 24-25 school year at Wakpala School can pick up free Mac carnival tickets at the Wakpala School. Guardians and High School students can pick up tickets on the following dates/times:
Wed., June 25, 1-8 pm
Thurs., June 26, 8am-3pm
Mon., June 30, 8am-12pm

Summer School Plant Walk

Yesterday, June 18th, summer school students participated in a plant walk led by Sunshine Claymore and Renae Schmitt. Students learned how to identify various grassland plants. They also learned about the plants' medicinal uses and cultural significance.

4 day school week

The Wakpala Public School will be going to a 4 day school week in the 2025-2026 school year. A tentative schedule and more information will be posted as details are finalized.
